Smiles, high fives, and celebration dances on the field. Our boys varsity soccer team are undefeated league champs! Congratulations to the 11 seniors on the team, playing a great game against Baldwin Park winning 17-0 on their senior night, and winning against Chaffey 1-0. They are now headed to CIF, facing even more competitive teams.
“We went 18-3-1 this season,” stated #18 Jonathan Basilio. “Cathedral was one of the toughest and challenging games we’ve played this year.”
Another senior, #4 Emiliano, shared some of his favorite memories. “My favorite game and memory was against Chino because that is where we won the league.”
Last but not least, #10 Adan Alvarado, shared great moments and a little bit about himself. “I have been playing soccer for 11 years, and I’ve been playing for the Montclair soccer team for 3 years. I feel like we are doing good so far, we went undefeated in the league, and I have been playing good, scoring goals, and helping my teammates win games.” He shares his favorite memory “going through the ups and downs with this team that I can call my family.” Aside from Cathedral being a competitive school, “Aliso Niguel was probably the most competitive school, they had very strong players but we didn’t have all of our transfers.” Adan shares that his favorite game is against Ontario, “I had the opportunity to score 3 goals to help my team.”
A big congratulations to our boys varsity soccer team, they did an amazing job this season! GO CAVS!
