23-24 JV Boys: League Champions!

After many matches, our Montclair Boys JV soccer team triumphed, awarded with the title of league champions. With high expectations since the beginning our boys worked hard every day and managed to obtain the arduous task of winning league. The final was played at Chaffey high school and with last years final also being played at Chaffey, other than the freshman on the team, it was nothing new playing a final at Chaffey and stepping foot onto Chaffey’s field. Montclair did not want to repeat history from last year and lose the final in the same field, to the same team, and in the same way, and with that in mind they only had one goal in mind, to win it all. A goal from Gio, our teams captain gave the win for Montclair with the final score being 1-1 our boys were awarded the win since they were a few points ahead of Chaffey.

“In the four years I was in this school, I was never able to be league champion. It took me until my second year being head coach to be league champion with Montclair”

— Isreal Rodriguez (head coach)

so you can probably imagine what he was feeling being champion after 6 trys. It shows the importance of having perseverance and shows that success is not final and failure is not fatal but it is the courage to continue that counts.

“The feeling of helping the team win league as unreal, Remembering the goal and seeing everyone on the team even the varsity players running towards me gives me goosebumps remembering it”.

— Gio (team captain

Now the boys are on off-season training and back with their clubs or local teams with hope of playing varsity level next year.
