As the holidays are approaching, families can come together to create memories and laugh with one another. Large amounts of food are plastered on the table for everyone to enjoy and thank the hands that have prepared it.
With so much food, you have to make some room for dessert! You can’t enjoy a grand meal and not top it off with something savory and satisfying.
Various dessert recipes are shared on the internet orĀ homemade and perfected to be passed down. Regardless of the origin of these treats, we want to know what the students at MOHI believe are their favorite holiday treats and what their recommendations are for others to try in the future.
Giselle Gomez, a junior at MOHI, explains, “I love to eat cookies when the holidays are just right around the corner, baking them is my favorite part personally. After they are freshly baked they taste the best and put me in the holiday spirit.”
Another junior, Emily Peraza, recommends chocolate-covered strawberries during this time of the year. They are one of her favorite sweets to enjoy, but what really puts them at the top is how easy they are to share with her loved ones.
Baking is a good way to connect closer to friends and family in the kitchen, having good laughs all in the process of making some holiday goodies. As things are getting festive all around us, it only makes sense to start creating and taking those Christmas-like treats out and on the table for everyone to enjoy together. So as the holiday season parades through, make sure to enjoy your fair share of sweet treats!
