What are you scared of? A phobia is an uncontrollable fear of an object or possibly a situation. The most common phobias include fear of failing, fear of death, fear of spiders, and an enclosed space. Most phobias begin if you had a bad experience or trauma in the past that triggered a panic attack response to a safe situation or object. A phobia can form if you hear about a bad experience. Psychology says phobias can be genetic or learned behavior from your parents. Fears are a natural human reaction, it is programmed in the nervous system.
After reviewing some submissions of what Montclair High School students are scared of, I noticed most people are scared of spiders, rats, and the dark. Carolina and Vanessa are scared of bugs. Daniel and Melaine fear rats or rodents.
You might’ve thought people would fear ghosts or the paranormal but studies prove otherwise. Do you fear paranormal activity more or less than rats and bugs?
