A day where all upperclassmen get to skip class and go to the beach. A day to relax and spend time with your friends.
Senior skip day takes way back to the 1930s , and was popularized by the classic movie Ferris Buller’s Day Off. Many students had never taken this day seriously, but over the years, it escalated and became a staple in American culture. Now, students have created their own senior skip day around April or May a month before graduation. And although teachers have been catching on and placing tests on the same day, students still find join in the occasion.
Many students make flyers and spread them all over social media. The beaches that gain more popularity during this time are Corona Del La Mar Beach , Long Beach and Huntington Beach. And as graduation comes faster and faster, many seniors want to do everything they can before leaving for good. Making memories should be one thing on your list, so you could have stories to tell your future kids or to reminisce about in the future.
Although participating in all these fun activities, remember to be safe!
