TV shows like The Amanda Show, ICarly, Sam & Cat, and Victorious have a blissful nostalgia attached to them. For some, these shows have completely made people’s childhoods. On the screen, there’s nothing wrong with these shows. It’s the behind-the-scenes that have made people come together in order to expose ICarly‘s creator, Dan Schneider. Many complaints of abusive behavior against Schneider that were filed by members of his staff and has also been noted that for years Schneider had been under a cloud of suspicion over the treatment of some younger stars of his shows.
How did this start getting attention?
First time the series ”Quiet On Set” aired during March 17 of 2024, this caught a lot of people attention and started too spread over social media and are trying to get justice for the cast that had been physical or mentally hurt as they were working with him and investigates claims of abuse, sexism, racism, and toxic workplaces at some Nickelodeon shows in its heyday of the 1990s and early 2000s.
Have any celebrities spoken up about Dan Scheider and Nickelodeon?
One of the celebrities that have worked with him and have spilled out a lot of information Dan would do too these poor children is Jennette McCurdy, one of the stars of ICarly also claimed in her best-selling 2022 memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died, that Nickelodeon offered her what amounted to hush money to prevent her from going public with her own experiences. Additionally, former Drake & Josh star Drake Bell has opened up about being sexually abused by Nickelodeon dialogue coach Brian Peck. But there is so much more too this story which not a lot of victims that have been part of it haven’t been able too speak up about it, we all are hoping that they will get the justice they deserve, ”They gave up their childhood in order too give ours.”
