Around this time of year, Christmas music is flooding our ears everywhere. From the comfort of our homes to the grocery store.

Music is what sets the season. And when it’s December it’s all about festivities. My personal favorite Christmas song that gets me in the spirit is “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” by John Lennon.

I went around campus asking students and staff what their favorite Christmas song is and does it have any significance towards them. Here’s what they had to say.

Junior MOHI student, Kitzia Viramontes said her favorite Christmas song is “Last Christmas” by Wham! Her reasoning for enjoying this song so much is because “it was the most played song in December all the time when I was a kid. It brings back so many memories.”

When asked about her most played christmas song MOHI teacher Mrs. Delgado said “White Christmas” by Michael Buble. Her thinking “Oh my god, I love this song, it makes me feel so much nostalgia and makes me feel warm and happy inside.”

Fellow Sophomore Kaitlyn Kavalauskas expressed her all time beloved Christmas song is “Christmas Tree Farm” by Taylor Swift. She exclaimed “I LOVE TAYLOR SWIFT. I’ve been a fan for forever now and everything she releases I adore. Her Christmas song is everything I love combined. Taylor Swift and Christmas.”

One last Junior MOHI student, Chris Fuentes says his go to Christmas song is “Jingle Balls” by Korn. The reason as to why he likes it so much is he loves metal and Christmas is “one of my favorite holidays.”

When approaching this Christmas, CAVS be sure to get in the spirit and listen to all the Christmas music in the world until your heart is content.
