Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (M.E.Ch.A) is an organization that promotes higher cultura, education, and historia. It was founded on the principles of self-determination for the liberation of our people. They believe that political involvement and education is the avenue for change in our society. The main focus of M.E.Ch.A is to promote student activism for higher education, culture, the history of Chicanos, and solidarity with other groups of minorities.  Here at Montclair MEChA strives to recognize minority groups and continue traditions. Many students have learned a lot about their own cultures through this club as well as what it means to be Chicano. M.E.Ch.A is not just for people from specific cultures but for anyone who wants to make difference.
